Seoul and Busan Express

The two big cities linked by the KTX high-speed train.

Days 1 to 4 Seoul: palaces in hanbok, Bukchon, Insadong tea houses, N Seoul Tower, Hongdae evening, DMZ day trip.
Day 5 KTX to Busan (2 h 40 min); Gwangalli bridge lights at night.
Days 6 to 7 Gamcheon village, Haedong Yonggungsa, Jagalchi market, Haeundae beach, Spa Land.
Day 8 Train back to Seoul for a final night of shopping.
Day 9 Incheon airport, non-stop to Dubai.

South Korea travel questions

How do I get from Dubai to Seoul?

Emirates flies non-stop from Dubai to Seoul Incheon in about nine hours. One-stop options through Doha, Istanbul or Bangkok are also available and sometimes cheaper.

When do the cherry blossoms bloom?

Usually late March in Busan and Jeju and early to mid April in Seoul, lasting about ten days. For autumn colour, visit from mid October to early November. Both periods need hotels booked months ahead.

Is South Korea expensive?

Mid-range hotels, trains and food are reasonably priced compared with Japan or Western Europe. Luxury hotels in Seoul are comparable to Dubai. We quote everything in AED so there are no surprises.

Can we get around without a guide?

Seoul and Busan have excellent metro systems and English signage, and the KTX train links the two cities in under three hours. We usually suggest a guide for the DMZ, palaces and food tours and independent time elsewhere.

Is Korea suitable for a family trip from the UAE?

Yes. Theme parks such as Lotte World and Everland, hanbok dress-up at the palaces, Nami Island, aquariums and very safe streets make it a strong family destination. Jeju adds beaches and volcanic walks.
